shyness ?

i liked this guy for a few months while we were friends and it was great, never awkward or i wasnt that shy really.. i could be myself around him.. but now im going out with him i get all shy and its awkward:L its like im different like when im around him. also when one of his mates ask for a hug i get all weird.. or when my bf asks or a mate(male) or hold hands i freak out- one i was like eww whats that on ur hand) i just don't get it when we are mates were grand but together not soo much...
how can i stop been shy and awkward with him and mates:D
(we not together now but still mates:L) - how can i show him i still like him and stop been awkward - his mates are very awkward and full on-would mess about us and all

Hi, i was bit lost with ur post too.. I see what you have written afterward in reply that you are just mates now but would like to get back with him. I get that now, but whats the problem with his friends etc?
