Click on the sound manager in the taskbar and change the output from speakers to HDMI.

    I got one of theses

VGA to HDMI Cable (I think that's the cable I have)

right click on the little sound icon in the taskbar, bottom right. choose playback device. then set HDMI as the default device! job done

Remember, you might have to change it back to the default speakers when you unplug the laptop from the TV, might save you making a thread "can't hear sound from my laptop" :p
