Wireless hotspot. iPhone to iPad?

The house I'm living in doesn't currently have a wifi connection.
I use my hotspot/tethering option on my iPhone to go online with my laptop. Would the same thing work with an iPad?

    Thanks

Yes, the iPad will pick up the hotspot exactly the same way your laptop does. I presume you're not with vodafone?

No, I'm with Three. Why do you ask?

Presumably because Vodafone charge through the nose for tethering.

Exactly. It's technically possible to tether the iPad to iPhone hotspot (I've done it) but it costs a fortune on VF unless you buy a data add on, that's on top of the data bundle you already pay for. Annoying, and no sign of VF changing their policy on this despite the competitors policy of "you pay us for 2gb per month in your bundle, and it's up to you how you use it, including tethering"
