Toshiba Laptop Screen

Well, hopefully someone can help me with my problem!

Ive got a Toshiba Laptop. This is all the info I could find to describe the model : Processor: AMD Athlon (tm) 64 x2 Dual-Core Processor TR-57 1.90 GHz
System Type : 32- bit Operating System

Okay so the problem is with my screen. Every so often it practically freezes, with grey lines appearing across the screen. This started happening a while ago but i found that i could get it working again by turning in the top left corner of the screen ( like turning in the corner of a page). The problem has now become all too frequent and persistent and i find myself holding the corner of the screen as i am writing this with one hand! :( ha

Just wondering what is the best way to go about fixing this? is it something i could do myself? or should i just hand it into a computer repair shop and at what approximate cost? Also, if the latter is the case, could someone please refer me to a good laptop repair shop in galway city!

Thanks for any help and advice in advance!

    Jack
