    I can't add as a payment option my laser card/maestro and as I was told Irish Maestro is not accepted. Is there any other way to purchase stuff on Amazon website?

    We apologise for the issues you encountered while entering your payment card information into our order form. 

We can accept Visa, (UK)Visa Electron, Delta, MasterCard, Eurocard, American Express, and UK based Maestro and Solo cards.

On  checking your account, I found that you have updated the Ireland  address. This may the reason your Maestro card is not accepted by our  system.

We also accept Amazon.co.uk gift certificates as payment.  However, we are not able to accept cheques or money orders, Eurocheques  or cash in any currency.

    You can't use Laser on Amazon because Laser is not a Maestro debit card. You will need one of the other methods that they do accept.

    but on my Laser is a logo of Maestro.

    Laser is still not a Maestro debit card. Amazon doesn't accept Laser, and there's no way around that.

    If it's not a maestro then what it is that logo doing on my card? That doesn't make sense.

    Maestro is also a handling company for using your bank card in other countries. Your debit card is Laser, not Maestro. If it was a Maestro debit card, why would the Laser symbol be there? They are not the same thing.
