PGDE (art/design) Ireland?

Hi, quick questions for those in the know.

Is an honors design/illustration degree from a English university good enough to get on the PGDE programme here in Ireland?
    (secondary school art/design teacher)

If not, is a PGCE in art/design from ENgland good enough to teach in Ireland .........or are there extra loopholes that a PGCE graduate would have to jump through.

Thanks in advance for the info.

    Regards.

You need to check with the Teaching Council 'list' and if the degree is not on 'the list' pay to have it assessed.
    The list (.pdf file)

Thanks, i'm aware of the teaching council list but this list seems only relevant to irish degrees. I'm aware of paying to have a degree checked, it's expensive!

I'm asking here to get some information from someone who may have been in a similar situation. I'll get a better idea if my degree will be refused by the teaching council before/if I send it for assessment.

    Regards
