Players who have lost out

This is a thread to discuss players that have lost out while at the RWC in terms of players stepping up ahead of them at home

McFadden has to have fallen the furthest down the Leinster pecking order while in New Zealand. Fitzgerald has showed himself a good option at 12 and Carr has proved good on the Wing. Had McFadden not been brought to the RWC he

Nevin Spence has been good at 12 for Ulster and you have to wonder if Wallace will walk back into the Ulster starting lineup.

I'm also wondering if POM has done enough for Munster to get ahead of Leamy or Donnacha Ryan in the shakeup for spots in the backrow.

I think Gilroy has done enough for Ulster to get ahead of Scotland's Danielli.

Anyone else who could be worrying about their spots when they get back from New Zealand.

To be honest I think Fitzy is only being tried at center because of stretched resources. He's proven himself there and might stay, but McFadden is still class and will be on the starting 15 for many many games over the next while. For example with the current setup you'd see him as 13 replacing EOM or replacing David Kearney on the wing.

Getting a player better than Danielli can only be a win win for Ulster.

Gilroy looks like he could walk onto a lot of teams recently. Odly I've seen more Ulster and Munster matches this year.

Leinster have a load of fantastic "problem" selections for HC coming into xmas as do Munster and Ulster, I'd be less worried for those coming home than the academy guys who've made bench / Pro12 appearances, they'll be straight out into A teams etc.

With Wally being injured, there is a good chance that the munster backrow will be leamy, pom, coughlan until wally is back fully fit.

Gilroy has done well but I would say that wallace will go straight back into the team at 12 meaning spence will go to the wing.

I think if Spence was considered a winger Whitten would play 12 and Spence would go to the wing.

That said I rather have Spence on the wing than Danielli.

I still believe that Fitz will get his form back. He wasn't really that far in the warm-up games.

Nevin Spence looks like a real deal.....Plus he's very young.

Feel sorry for Mcfadden. He's done enough but unfortunately BOD will still be there 4 another 2 years. Till then, I suspect he'll be a bit old ( 27 I think?) for a centre.
