I got a lesson at the start of the season from Kevin Foy in Stepaside driving range having reading good reviews here. Found him quite good although thought it was rather Irish having to pay for a bucket of balls on top of the €30-35 for the 1/2 hour lesson.
I got a lesson later in the year then from David Lavelle in Spawell driving range who's also got good reviews here. Found him equally good and overall much better value since the 1/2 hour lesson for €25 also included the balls. I'll be going back to David for another lesson or two once the season finishes in a couple of weeks.

Ciaran Carroll in Bray Golf Club, excellent teacher, no bull**** or tying you up in theory. I had a course of lessons from him over the summer and the difference in my game is fantastic.

I'm a highish handicapper as well and have taken a fair few lessons over the years. I would suggest that you try getting a video lesson that can be sent to your email. I got one recently from David Lewis in Greystones and found it really useful. It's all too easy with a regular lesson to let some of the advice go in one ear and out the other, and as you can see below I would never have believed I came over the top as much as I did unless I saw it on the video.

Btw, please be kind about my swing.

ive been to Barbara Hackett in Coonagh,But as earlier said by another

Found him quite good although thought it was rather Irish having to pay for a bucket of balls on top of the €30-35 for the 1/2 hour lesson.

And i found same issue there.

Now its not a big thing but still.
Also i was told i had to change my grip on club and completely change my swing.

now im never gonna be a Pro.all i really want is someone to say
''Sean how u stop slicing the ball is etc.......''

    thats all i need :o)

    after that im happy.

    Sean

I've been going down to Brendan Mcdaid in rathsallagh and he also teaches in Carlow and couldn't recomend his friendlyness and genuine helpfulness enough. He'll do a deal if you can pull one or two others with you....

Here's an old review of him and i can honestly say it sounds like he hasn't changed http://indigo.ie/~kands/kands/html/mcdaid.html

    Wouldn't go past Raymie tbh.

Started the year off on 36, 7 months & 3 lessons from Raymie later I'm playing off 17.
He's fairly technical, which I really liked. As he made each adjustment to part of my swing he explained why. Keeping key points relevant not only helped me remember what he told me but also helps me make adjustments during a round if I'm not hitting the ball great.

He's €40 per half hour which is pricey enough, but worth every cent imo.

Micheal Dixon in the K club. You can buy a voucher on pigsback.ie for 45 euro for an hour. Thats 50% off. Valid from Dec 1 to March 31. I have been going to him for a while now and find him great.

I use Ger Hall in Edenderry Golf Academy. He is an excellent teacher and readily explains things until you understand. I find this really helps me focus on what I am learning. He is very competitive with repairs, re-grooving, checking club lies etc. I would highly recommend him. www.edenderrygolfacademy.com or phone 046-9772791.

Johnny Young in Rosslare Golf club is great 30 euro per half hour which usually turns into 45-50 mins.
