    Hi,

I am moving home for a few months until the job situation picks up. I will have to change my place of residence and collect my payment back home.

Does anyone know how long this takes to process? I tried calling them but nobody picks up.

    Cheers

if you are moving back home and your on JSA and under 25 you will proberly have to go through a means test as your circumstances will have changed.

that's if your under 25 not sure what will happen if your over that age.

If you are moving back home you will have to go the sw office in your home town and ask for your claim to be transferred. You will have to provide proof of address. A letter from your parents stating that you are living with them should suffice. As already stated if you are <25 years your means will have to be reassessed and your parents means will be included in any means testing.

    Slight hijack, forgive me! :)

I have a question that's related to the OPs query, if someone moves back home and both of their parents are on JSA & Disability, would there be a reduction in the rate the person received? (she's 24 btw) or would it probably be unaffected?

It is highly unlikely that there would be a reduction in the rate the person is receiving in view of the fact that parents are on JSA and Disability but their means will be reviewed.

Ah, ok, i'll pass that on, i think one of the parents is getting a carers allowance too (for her husband, who lives there too) not sure if that'll make much or any difference.

    Cheers.

Rather than start a new thread....

I am moving adress soon and moving to a different county, is there much involved
in transferring my dole payments to a different office?
Do I just need to contact my local social welfare branch?

Have done this recently. First thing to do is contact your social welfare office and tell them you are moving. They will give you a form to fill out(just one page). They will give you a photocopy of the form. Bring that form, proof of new address and ID ASAP to your new welfare office and they will request the payment be transferred internally. Thats all I done and I got my payment the following week. Best of luck.
