Entitlement to Dole in Dublin

    Dear all,
I've recently come to the unsavoury conclusion that I will not be able to afford 3rd level this year and will have to defer.
I'm hoping to make some money during this time and thus have effectively been out of college since May. (I transferred from one academic institution to another earlier this year). I did not sit my Summer examinations this year thus could have been counted as having left that institution earlier than May.
I was wondering if I would be entitled to the Dole from May i.e claiming back from May until now. I didn't know that I would be deferring and to lose that much would be a great loss and to gain would be a great contribution for college next year.
Also, I don't live at home anymore, I have since moved to Dublin from another county. I was wondering if I can still claim in Dublin?? Is it okay, or is it problematic?
If it's relevant, I'm also over 21 years old.
If it is possible, I was wondering where the nearest 'Sign-On' department is in Dublin, I assume there are more than one (??) from D7.
Thanks in advance for any help, it's greatly appreciated.
    :)

    See http://www.welfare.ie/EN/OperationalGuidelines/Pages/ja_jobseekall.aspx

Technically you are still enrolled in college/uni. Seeing as you intend on returning to your studies it's anyone's guess as to whether you'll be disqualified or not.

As for backdating.. don't hold your breath. It can be backdated up to 6 months at the officer's discretion providing you have a good reason for not claiming on your first day of being unemployed. However, your college records probably show you are still in education.
    THIRD LEVEL STUDENTS
    (a) Students who have not completed their final year:
Third level students who have not completed their final year at college are disqualified for receipt of JA during the academic term and for the duration of the summer vacation periods

    (c) Students who leave college mid-year:
Third level students who state that they do not intend to continue with their studies and leave before the completion of the academic year (without sitting summer examinations) may be regarded as no longer "attending a course of study". As a result they are not subject to this disqualification.

    Okay thanks for that!
If that's the case, then maybe I shouldn't disclose that I might go back to education the following year,...I see no problem in this if it helps evade that problem.
As for living in Dublin, can I go to the 'Sign-On' office here and tell them that I've since moved here, or must I go back to my home county and inform them of my change of address? What's the situation around that?
Thanks for the advice and any more! :)
