    Hi all,
Just a quick question on this.
I vew been seing a therapist for 2 years not regular as clock work but recently he has moved his practice to another location that is very incovienent to get to.

If it comes down to changing, how doI go about it?
Would my current one need to to talk to the new one to fill them in or would it be just simple cut loose and start with the new one?

    Thanks

You just start seeing a new therapist, in private practice off the top of my head I can't think of one reason why a therapist would speak to another therapist about a client's previous treatment.

    Thanks.
Just thought that the original therapist would need to fill the new one in on the history or any possible direction the treatment should go, like a gp would send on a file.

That's where I differ with Odysseus: I might request a summary from a previous psychologist, or the referring psychologist/psychiatrist will send a referral letter.

It's up to yourself, The Goose, you can always ask your present or future therapist.
