I feel kinda sad for people who have no interest in sport, the joy it brings when you win is unrivalled .

I normally go back to bed to avoid rugby

I'll just watch it in bed while still half asleep. How bloody inconsiderate is it of them to have the thing in New Zealand? It fcuks the whole show up

    Yea right.

Why would you want to deny yourself a bit of fun and excitement enjoying a game because of that particular game's history. That's just messed up.

Are the only good sports those that used to be played by poor, uneducated people?

Yeah - i am getting up. Should be a good match.

Pepper was a spice that only kings could afford hundreds of years ago. Should we not enjoy that since we're not royalty?

You will be shining your tin foil hat whilst the match is on, you couldn't possibly have to time to watch it?

How do you know I'll be shining my tin-foil hat?

STOP FOLLOWING ME AND LEAVE ME ALONE!

Besides, I would have the exact same reaction if I saw the results afterwards as I would if I watched the game live. I don't care and it really doesn't matter.

Wouldn't miss it for the world..Love the game and love sport in General.
Would sit down and watch Ireland play any sport to be honest...
And fair play to the team for their brilliant performance so far...let hope it continues and we have something to look forward too each week rather than the usual Sh%te doom and gloom in the media about the Economy/Banks and useless muppets running for election in the Presidency.

I shall be awake, watching it from my leaba. It'll be worth it if we win, although if we lose I'll be 1 pissed off person, and it'll only be around 8am at that stage..

A rugby match isnt going to change anything

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,273 ✭✭✭Morlar

I got up early for some and didn't for others. The times I didn't get up early I managed to avoid hearing the score until I saw the setanta replay.

Avoiding hearing the score till you get to see the replay is not as easy as it sounds.

I will probably get up early as I have a horrible feeling this could be our last match.

    It surely won't.

But it can be escapism for 80 minutes, and if they win that escapism can last another week.

It's your choice not to care. But it does matter to a lot of people to be fair.

Its quite fun actually, until you wake up late that evening and the sitting room is covered in fag butts, empty cans, punctured blow up tri colour hammers and gawk.

I can't see myself getting up for it - why did they have to have New Zealand in a different time zone. Surely they could have moved the country to a better time zone so that the matches wouldn't be on at the crack of dawn?
