Looks like a good find. Cheers!

Yep, looks to be a good find alright, specs absolutely fine given the price. 6 cell battery too so very decent battery life. It looked like netbooks were dead in the face of tablets, but they can certainly survive at this price level

Looks great to me if i didnt have a decent netbook. To be honest my netbook goes with me every where and does more than a tablet for me so wouldnt consider getting a tab over a netbook

This looks really good! Works out at €173 delivered.

    So...
    1) Has anyone here used this crowd before and
    2) Would you have to pay duty / charges having it delivered here?

Yes I've bought 2 laptops from them. Excellent company to deal with. The only thing is after you place your order you will get an email from them saying there is a problem with your order and to call their customer service.

Don't worry! When you call they just want to verify your details as you're placing the order from Ireland rather than the UK.

Delivered both times for me within a week and for a tenner thats pretty decent. They always seem to beat amazon/laptopsdirect/ and other websites for price too.

do you have to pay VAT on it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,080 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

    Raging.

Bought this for 240 euro in PC World yesterday (I needed it asap).

Dont think it was a bad price but obviously not as good as this Packard Bell.

No. You don't have to pay Irish VAT on it once it's in purchased within the EU

If it's not in stock now, will you still be charged now even though they can't send it, or is there a certain amount of time it must be sent by or the order is void?

The one in PC World for €239 only has a 3-cell battery, I nearly bought it myself.

Dammit anyway! I'm on the lookout for a netbook & this would have been great value @ £139.

    Is a 3-cell-battery ****e?

Damn, must have been a pricing mistake, still a fairly good deal though.

And yes, a 3 cell battery would be ****e, it'd be like having a netbook with standard laptop battery life, i.e, partly defeats the point

You bought a Dual-Core Processor Tusky and I don't think this offer is a DC.

Yeah, dual-core, so a slightly different model to the one linked. The battery life actually isnt really a problem for what I need it for anyway. DC = ?

Buy a new network card because this isnt wireless 'N' so data rate likely to be much slower.

Not ****e, but a 6 cell battery would be perfect for a Dual-Core netbook, I mean 5-6 hours work without charging.
