Replacing Tyre

Hi. I got new alloys for my car nearly 2 yrs ago. I need to replace two of the tyres. I still have old alloys with two nearly new tyres.
Tyre to be replaced is 225/45/17. The old alloy nearly new tyre is 215/45/17.
My question is can I put 215 as replacement for 225?
As I say the old alloy tyres were used for about 3 months so are practically new...
If not, anywhere in Dublin with a good price for 225/45/17? I have got quotes of €110 and 120.

they will fit on the rims no problem i would say. they would just be a small bit narrower and the side wall slightly lower

Tanx sean1141. So basically would look a bit low-profile. Do you know if it would impair driving in any way?

Might not pass the NCT but as long as there boh on the same axle i'd go ahead and use them.

what car are they going on? a 225-45-17 would br classed as low profile too

they wil pass the test if they are on the same axel and in good condition ete

some of the bigger mercs and bmws would hace wider tyres/rims on the back than what are on the front
