hi. my fiance and i plan to marry next year, we have registered with our local registry office, ; however he was divorced in italy and to proceed with marriage we have to obtain an annex one form as instructed by reg office. we have sent said form with a copy of his divorce to the municipal building in july and this has gone missing, we phoned the place and nobody could help us with our query ! An post is now trying to track form. Has anybody out there any experience with this type of problem or knows anything about it. we have called both irish and italian embassies to no avail. IF any0ne can help , please, please do:confused:

    Sorry to hear that!
It's ridiculous that important documents like that could go missing in their offices. The fastest route I'd imagine would be to fill out the form again and send in another copy. Make sure to include a letter saying why you're sending it in again, and hopefully they'll prioritise it. I don't know what's involved in that form, so hopefully it's just filling it out. If you have to get stamps and signatures of solicitors/gardai, then that's obviously extra hassle for you. Hope you still have the originals.

Sorry to hear about that. We're in the same boat, only it was Israel and they don't accept cheques or transfers to pay the fees for the divorce papers (which he didn't get the first time as he didn't think he'd ever need them! :D) so he traveled over to get them. It might be the simplest way - though not the cheapest.... You could make a weekend of it?
