Orange San Fran or Acer Liquid Metal?

    Hey guys,

    Just a quick question here regarding these two phones. There's not much difference in the price (with the San Fran being got for £109.99 in the north and the Acer @ €165 here. I know the San Fran has an extensive online community both on here and over at MoDaCo but the Acer community seems to be growing as well and will hopefully be sustained.

    I was just wondering if anyone had any first-hand experience with the Acer or would I be better off sticking with the tried and tested San Fran?

    Thanks in advance for any feedback, opinions or even completely new suggestions in this price range!

    Haven't got the Acer but have had a San Fran for over a year now. The San Fran is a cracking phone and now as a tonne of Roms available which substantially improve it's performance.

    Only thing for me is that the San Fran is now a year old. Specs wise the Acer is faster and it's speed can be increased. Only downside from what I've read is the lack of internal memory (512mb).

    Price wise, that's the best price I've seen for the Acer but you'll have to wait for it to come back into stock.

    Argos sell the San Fran for £99.00. There's one available in their Portadown store.

    I upgraded to the Acer from the San Fran. Both great phones but the Acer is certainly the way forward.

    A quick google seems to say this will play flash content.

    Can you confirm tybbyltd? Does it play RTE player for example?

    I don't know about RTE player. I'm not sure what that is.

    The phone supports flash, something which the OSF doesn't.
