I once seen an engineer working on the wing of a 737 with a high viz and on the back it had written "f**k off spotters" lol

Needless to say, the guys behind the fences with there radios, rain jackets and cameras didnt like it .:P

Ive seen them been trown out of airside to name but just a few things..

    whats your experience with spotters?

From reading your post I don't know if you mean 'spotters' or 'spelling'. I'm thinking maybe you misspelled 'spelling' instead???

Ive been at airports where I have seen them walking around, getting the reg of the aircraft and seen security, firecrew etc tell them to F off and been shown where the gate is to go back land side!

Mabey should have done a poll insted.

Just looking for your stories etc.

I dont hate the people, I just think people should do some flying insted of standing around and just looking at aircraft.

And how exactly did they bypass security?

He's not entirely wrong. I have seen, in 25 years in the business, spotters being invited to leave after having entered allegedly secure premises, such as once at Cork Airport, where a guy had managed to get into the Irish Helis hangar. I also saw it happen at a small regional airport in the UK. In both cases, at the time in question, security was not as tight as it is now and the fences and gates weren't up to much.
Most spotters are okay but a few are annoying and intrusive.

    regards

Here's my guess for him rejoining and seeing if boards.ie recognised his new username:

    To actually answer the OP:

    I don't dislike spotters.

Thank you. Some positive feedback at last.

Most of the negative comments on here I would bet my 2pence that you are intrusive type spotters!

    What a great argument ....
So people who like the Military and cant join due to being unfit should get a gun and free ammo.....
People who like F1 but cant get to drive should be given a 200+kph car and told to be careful....
and people who have a interest in Aircraft should all be let fly even if they have some medical reason that stopped them in the first place....

Im off to build a underground bunker just in case your logic wins.... :pac:
