Very sad, I recently came to hear some of his work and was hugely impressed.

Scottish folk musician Bert Jansch, a founding member of the band Pentangle and a well-known guitarist in his own right, has died at the age of 67.
Jansch, who had cancer, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning at a hospice in Hampstead, north London.

One of the most important guitarists of the post war era.

Seen him live about four or five years ago not knowing much about him and came away a massive fan, RIP.

Only saw him with Joanna Newsom back in July :( Wasn't all that familiar with his work, but he gave a damn good performance.

    RIP.

The most I ever paid for a CD was for a Bert Jansch CD!

Extremely talented both as a solo artist and as a member of Pentangle

An absolutely unique talent. That's sometimes an easy statement to trot out but in Bert's case, it's simply undeniable.

His playing was bold and compelling, aggressive at times also and his songwriting and voice were full of soul.

First discovered him in my early 20's and was lucky to see him in Whelans on four or five occasions in the 90's / early 2000's. He was shy, unassuming yet hugely charismatic.

    RIP.

Only heard about this last night. I'm gutted. I saw him for the first time at the Joanna Newsom gig in July and was looking forward to seeing him again. The Black Swan has been on my regular playlist since.

Here he is in Marley park.

    RIP Bert.
