    depends on time of year i suppose, in the spring /summer fertiliser / labour or contractor costs etc... in the winter its different also depends on the price of the fertiliser etc,if spring calving not a great answer :confused:

    i did say it wasnt a great answer, thanks for picking me up on that :), the reason i didnt say feed for spring summer is that believe it or not some farmers dont feed meal in the spring/summer

    would them figures equate to the profit monitor common costs or total cost

    any one know the exact difference between the two?

    fixed costs were;machinery-2.0 cents
    car/esb/phone;1.67
    depreciation;2.53
    other;2.0
    machinery at 2 cents is way too high,depr is high because of a new building in 2008. teagasc targets are 7.5 cents for variable costs and 7.1 for fixed costs.
    this year I have reduced feed and vet costs and depreciation will be down. output will be up
