Tell her to cop on and stop wasting time and money.

Also...you say 'we'. What did you think of the Vectra and Avensis? What did you think of the Ibiza?

A Golf sounds like it would be the business for her but she'd need to find another grand or so for one, same story with a Honda Civic.

What about an Astra?? The likes of this yoke

ya she really likes golfs but just out of her budget(i have a gttdi golf at the min and must say it would easily be the best car i have had), never thought of the astra's, must show her them now and see what she thinks. i showed her the civic 2.2 and she fell in love with it but again out ofher budget

Apologies, I should have worded what I meant a little better. She has and is driving three extremely mainstream cars. An Avensis, Ibiza and Vectra are hardly thinking outside the box. Neither is a Focus or Golf. If she was test-driving them, surely she would have realised the first two cars were too big, and the Ibiza too slow?

Why not just get a 1.4 petrol? Even if its before 08, the tax will only be 300 euro, and it opens the market up to you a bit more? Something like a 1.4 C4, or Fiat Bravo?
