3 Acoustic Choices, around €200

    Hallo guys!

Last time I posted I got solid advice about an Electric Guitar and an Amp, Yamaha Pacifica and Roland Cube. I love them both but now I have some euros to spend on an acoustic.

I currently own an Epihone EJ-200 CE Jumbo guitar with medium gauge elixr strings, the guitar sounds great and I love it.

Problem is next year I'll likely be heading somewhere down country for college. And I don't want to take the EJ-200 with me since it cost me 330 euro or so v0v.

I've been doing some thinking and I can't settle on what guitar I would like to buy, I love hearing a new type of sound so I taught maybe a 12 string.

IBANEZ V7212E-NT - Free strap and bag with it so not too bad.

But I'm wondering if I should even bother with the 12 string and get a regular 6 string dreadnaught acoustic instead. I've heard nothing but good about Yamaha's so they were what I taught.

YAMAHA FG 700S - Choice one, reviews seem all great for it.

YAMAHA FG 700MS - Choice 2, not as many reviews at the first one I used this for info in the past and it's served well.

I would also like strings, unless anyone has these guitars and stock ones are ok. Any other suggestion are welcome, but wouldn't like to spend more than the €230 as it's a guitar that will likely end up getting robbed on me -.- (Especially if I end up in Dublin trololo no offence dubs).

Being very honest here, i'd just be taking the EJ200 with you. I can understand why you might not want to, they're great playing/sounding guitars, only played one 2 days ago. But spending 200 quid on a new guitar, when the one you want to keep minty only cost you 300, is insane.

If you need a cheap guitar for lugging around, and bringing out at sessions, find a nice second hand Yamaha acoustic for 100 quid tops. But honestly i'd just be bringing the epiphone with me!

I played a lovely "vintage" parlour guitar in Dublin Guitar Center about two weeks ago, it was €229 as far as I can remember. Didn't look, feel or sound like a €200 guitar.
I was going to buy it 'till I found an even nicer Guild for only twice the price... :p

Edit: more than double the price actually...

And if you're wondering, parlour guitars are much smaller than traditional acoustics and really bright sounding.
Great for lugging around and sessions!

I've a Cort Earth 70 which I love, decent solid top guitar for little monies. Don't buy a 12 string unless you've tried one first.

I got a nice Takamine here in Galway about a year ago for less than €200 including gigbag. It's another brand to consider.
