Ive been offered a Customer Service and PC Skills test and was wondering what it was all about?

    Dear ######,

Many thanks for your application for the position of Customer Service / Technical Support Associate.

We have received your application and will be inviting you to an assessment in Bishopstown, where we will assess your Customer Service and PC Skills along with telling you more about our client and the roles available.

The assessment centres will be held in the coming weeks and we will be in contact by email one to two weeks before hand to confirm your place at assessment.

Looking forward to meeting you there.

    Kind regards

I looked threw some archive amazon threads and was wondering a few things?

Has anyone been hired as a Customer Service / Technical Support Associate?
Anyone had any dealings with www.expect-talent.com before?
What is the salary for Amazon these days in the above role?
Do i do an interview after the tests:confused:

Hi - I worked for Amazon in Cork as a Technical Customer Service Advisor in 2009/10. I too applied through Expect but I just had a face-to-face interview with a team leader at Amazon's office (Cork Airport) and never really had any dealings with Expect expect for giving them my referee's details.

Usually (I used to work in recruitment) an assessment centre can involve some typing, multiple-choice quizs (both on a computer) group activities with other candidates (I hate these with a passion) and sometimes a 'role play' (essentially a 'mock' phone call with you playing the tech support role and your interviewer as the customer in another role). After there can be a face-to-face interview or they may ask you to come back for that on another day.

I can't say I likes working for Amazon - but I am not really a 'techie' minded person, so sometimes the customers new more than I did. I dealt with Kindle support, but the work was not that hard, just not by cup of tea. I was on €23,000, but the worst thing was the shifts (you basically work a split shift system, mine always started at 7 am, over 7 days. They give you 2 days off per week, but not always together, which is not great. Still, I know people who started before me who are still there, so they must like it.

Good luck with your application and the job-searching in general.

    Kia Kaha.
