I was just reading Mauser308s post on a thread about losing a deer in high Heather and needing a dog, the thought crossed my mind that it would be great if there was a register of deer tracking dogs in Ireland like there is in Denmark and Germany.
In fact I think it is a requirement on the coillte lease, anyone any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Bibio

AFAIK You need to have access to a trained dog in 1 hour for your coilte permit

When I was in the states I was chatting to a fella there who was called out about 80 times a year to track wounded deer with his bloodhounds

Few crowds in the UK offer this service. Would be nice to see the same here but I think some lads would be too paranoid to let others see their ground and see the animals they have shot. Good idea though.
