medical expenses

    apologies if this has been asked before i have never been given receipts for my medicines i have been taking the past number of years question is i got statements of my pharmacy for what i have spent per year for the last 4 years is this allowed for claiming tax back or does it have to be individual receipts per month any help greatly appreciated

    What you have is fine. Revenue only want the annual figures when you make the claims. If they want to review your claim (they do this sometimes - you'll get a letter from them) the statements from the pharmacy will keep them happy.

    Hi You also should go to your doctor and he/she can also give you a printout of what you paid him/her for the last 4 years. Also if you had any dental work then go to your dentist and get them to fill out a med2 for you and you can claim all these as well. Also physiotherapists and some other therapys can be claimed .
