    HI,
After using someuseful posts on this site to help with the buying of the engagement ring, We are married 18 months... And the talk has now become more in line with buying an eternity ring..

I'm just wondering what kind of Ball Park figure I should be looking at when it comes to purchasing one...Does anyone have any experience in this area??

I know she wants a blue saphire, Her wedding and engagement rings are both platinum.. But she has said that maybe she might go for white gold..

    Thanks..

I thought an eternity ring was given when you are married 10 years?

It'll have to be platinum so. Platinum is a harder metal than white gold, and so the gold ring would get damaged by continually rubbing against the platinum ones.

The whole buying them as a "push" present got huge during the celtic tiger boom. Traditionally they were bought for a big anniversary.

I was hoping people would have copped on a little.

(that's not aimed at the OP or anyone in particular - if you have the money and are happy to spend it, go for it, it's your money to do with what you want)

They can be either but I like them representing the circle of life and the birth of the 1st child.

The more nice jewelery us ladies get the better;) though it is nice to have symbolism behind it.

Mt eternity ring will be my wedding ring.

My mum got hers on the birth of my eldest brother, it's my understanding that it is on the birth of the first child. :D
Still though as it is expensive and very representative, it should be when it feels right and when you can afford.

A scam orchestrated by the jewelerry industry to boost their sales.
Such nonsense really,if you want to buy a piece of jewellery just get it, to be pushed down this avenue of forced moments is just silly.

She could go for white gold if she plans to wear the ring on her other hand. My fingers are really small so I couldn't fit 3 rings on the one finger so my eternity ring will go on my right hand. I'd say a lot of women would prefer the 3 on the one hand though.

yeah, a friend of mine got her eternity ring on their 1st anniversary and she wears it on her right hand. It's very pretty, but I think she said they didn't go for a very expensive one. She wears it all the time, unlike general jewellery.

ballpark is so hard to estimate, go into a shop and look at a few, will depend if you want a 5 stone with with bigger stones, or a one with stones the whole way around the band but smaller? from my limited knowledge the 5 stone bigger one will set you back more but I could be wrong on that.

Im looking at getting an eternity ring for my wedding band, well to me its a wedding band but im told its actually eternity rings im looking for! one with small little stones on the band to match my engagement ring

I got mine last year after 4 kids and lots of years together!

Its white gold though, not yellow and I love it.
Looks great with the wedding set or on its own.
Got it from Seamus @ Voltaire Diamonds.
Look him up, his facebook page is pretty active - I'm sure he will be able to help and will definately undercut the rest price wise.
