Yes, first don't attempt to turn it on. Leave it in a bag of rice in the hot press for a day or two.

Have a look through some threads here, the key to recovery is to let it dry out. Water damaged iPhones can be fixed so just sit tight, check it in 2 days then post back here for more advice if it doesn't cone on.

Thanks naasrd, is the only option to let it dry out or is there a shop I can drop it into?

the shop would take longer fixing it than buying a container of rice and stuffing the phone into it and waiting

if it was me, i would get some lacquer thinner dismantle the phone and cover the motherboard with it and leave it for about 10-15 min

then i would remove and run over it with a small paint brush and then gently heat with a hair drier for about 1 min

when I was sure the phone was dry I would reassemble it and it should be fine.

Happened a friend of mine. It dried out ok, but the home button never worked again. Rendered the phone pretty useless. Touchscreen worked fine, as did the OS.

My friend did not heed the advice of "Do not try and turn it on".

Dropped it to a shop on Camden street after a boardsie sent me a pm, got it back in 2 hours and is working fine so far..
