    A friend of mine put his toyoto Hilux 4x4 up on done deal,Its worth about 16000.euro In a matter of hours an english bloke rang up and said that he was buying up all the Hiluxs he could and is shipping them to south africa, he will give him 14000 cash tonight,he then rang back and asked for the chasis and reg number as he wanted to book them on the ferry, like a naive young man he gave them all his details,anybody no whats going on here and if this is the way these things are done ????

    if he agrees to met and sell for cash and sign all documents over i cant see anything from it:) tell em not to accept cheques or anything like that...serious scam that way then

    They most likely are going to clone the car in the UK, saying it was imported.

    Just an update on this,

    It wasn't a scam the people drove up from Galway,paid in cash for the hilux and off they went,dident even check the hilux out just paid and went. :-)

    I could have told you that. I got a call about a truck I had for sale and I was away for the weekend. I left out the keys for the guy and he left the cheque under the seat and collected it the week after..:)

    Only half-joking - has your friend checked all the cash ?

    If it checks out then great , what sounded like a scam will turn out well in the end.

    Not really, my fella got me to send the two of them to Shannon and mark the box for export.

    It can take several weeks for the cheque to bounce, but the bank will credit your account before they have the money from the issuing bank.

    You where lucky, but usually the scammers don't even look it over.

    But you didnt :p No way would a chk be acceptable,But good for you it went well.
    The buyer says there selling them in indonesia for 30/40 thousand pounds :confused::confused: whatever its done now :D
