After cutting the tail off a fox what do you do? I have a couple I left in the shed starting to lose fur. I usualy freeze them for the vermin count. How can I preserve them without freezing?

Straw out of supermacs and nozzle of a tube of silicone and pour white spirits down it.

i only ever freeze them. would definitely be interested in another way if possible. some people say skin them but i tried it a few times and they still fell apart eventually. probably did it wrong.

Paulo posted a video a while back of me skinning a tail with a knife and stick , then I insert a straw, and use a silicone tip as a funnel to pour down white spirit.

I did one last march and it still looks perfect.

I was *told* to dip the whole tail in white spirit and put borax (curing agent) inside.

Back when you could get real Cresote, dipping it in same did a great job at preserving them. :D;)

    Spirits is cheaper ;)

It also kills the smell which can be handy.
I also put salt down the tail to take some of the moisture out before I got the spirits as I had no Spirits at the time.

Paul has, I have tried to do some, byt it's hard to hold camera and work at the same time.

Really want to do a video on how to neck shoot deer, and long range bunnies.

Youtube, lookup tackleberrywho and you'll see a couple of mine, but Paulo is on my friends list as I can't remember his name there and I'm on the mobile here so I can't search to handy.
Paul has a good few videos
