Recently i noticed that when i turn on dim headlights they don't work but instead my left indicator light comes on and stays on.

Full beam headlights are working fine. Its a bmw e39.

Any diy solution? Any idea of the problem? cheers in advance

It means your normal sidelight/parking light bulb has blown. You indicator bulb comes on to substitute as a safety feature.

Replace the bulb and it'll go back to normal.

Do you have anymore info on this?

Ive got an e46 with the bulb out warning on, but the bulb isnt blown. It glows very dim, like there isnt enough power going to it.

The dips and headlights seem, just affects the sidelights.

Have you tried changing the bulb?

Have you tried changing the bulb?

No, the sound of hooves means that zebras are close...!!!

I have. I thought it was just a bulb out like any other time but it appears to be something more, it has a very slight glow like there is a trickle of power going to it, but not what should be there.

My comic genius is wasted on you guys....

If you were in a field in Meath and heard the sound of hooves- would you think that horses or zebras were about??

Some people always want to complicate things and look to the obscure cause that never happens...

In 99% of cases, the obvious answer is the correct answer eg a blown bulb...so that's what should be fixed first....

    Get me:confused::confused:

    I don't smoke anything....

It would be what you call the dim light I guess. If yours is a pre angle eye model then it should just be a 5w capless bulb.

Cheers, yes they aren't angel eye lights just the "normal" ones !:)

By the dim light I mean the first lights to come on when you turn the knob, that would be a 5w capless bulb ??

    Thanks for your help

I should have also stated that both dim lights aren't working, and not just the one beside the left indicator which lights up.

    Cheers
