    Anyone got suggestions?

Do you tend to give a gift? What do you give?

What type of gifts did you get when you got engaged?

Unless it is an actual engagement party or you are very close to the couple, I don't think a present is necessary.

We didn't have an engagement party but we did get a few cards and 2 presents which were both candle holders, one ceramic from Newbridge and the other was from Avoca.

Definitely not necessary, some people do though! My favourite gifts were restaurant vouchers, saving for a wedding cuts into your nights out so it was a lovely treat

We got a few nice photo frames, engraved champagne glasses, candles, that sort of thing.

We certainly didn't expect anything off anyone, but anything that we did get was very much appreciated. :)

My own gang arent big on this but the other halfs are.
Weve gotten candle holders, wine glass sets, champagne glass set, cake stand, photo frames, cutlery, towels, vouchers, vases etc.

Best was a nice wooden frame with 3 photos of us taken in the last few years and saved for the occasion.
