Its even cheaper to buy proper beer.

I never understand why non alcoholic beer is so expensive. I mean isnt alcohol the element that drives the price and the tax up for beer?

Perhaps there were more of a selection available, Ie. it says Any 5 so I would assume there were other types of beer on offer possibly for more than 2 euro.

Or else a genuine mistake from Tesco.

Non-alcoholic beer isn't liable for excise duty so should be much cheaper in pubs but thats rip-off republic for ya.

Not a genuine mistake from Tesco. This is their new marketing ploy. I was in the big one in Naas the other day.

Offer was 60 cent each of any 3 for €1.80.

There were other similar offers throughout the store. They are really preying on the stoopid.

    It says 1.99 per litre.
    No it doesn't.

It says 1.99 each, thats probably the bargain, maybe they were dearer before or going on Tesco policy i have noticed, maybe they jacked the price up for a certain time (they did it with phones recently) galaxy mini was 129 (have the print screen) then 159 , dropped back to 89, a pricetastic 70 euro saving, oh wait it was only a30 euro saving, hmmm.
So they then brought the item (beer/phone) down again so it looks like they are giving a great deal, when it is either a marginal benefit or none at all.

If I recal correct, I saw that beer offer, I think there were other varieties of paulaner so it is still 5 for 10 euro, not sure if they were all 1.99, so if one was 2.20, they you are up an astonishing 15 cent.

At least they (mostly) put the price per gram/kg/lt so its easy to compare.
    Is that a legal requisite?

Those types of offer errors are widespread, but normally its a group of products with different prices.

As for beer duty - this is just 20c per botte.

The non-alcoholic version is cheaper. The other normal bottles are probably at 2.50 each making 5 for 10 a "deal"

    Why bother posting this up?

Anne Robinson and Watchdog on BBC have already cottoned on to this in GB and some of them are hilarious, they showed a rake of them sent in by shoppers last Thursday

Tesco have a policy where if they overcharge you they give you the produce for free. Bring 5 to the till, when charged €10 complain that they should only cost €9.95. So they are overcharging you. Then you should get them for free. THAT SHOULD BE AN SUPER BARGAIN ALERT. :D
