At the end of the day there's something worth respecting about Dana's persistence.


I have no time for her politics or her links with evangelical types in the US, but I have just as little time for those people who like to think they are the bee's knees on the supercool, ultra enlightened intellectual superiority complex front. Most of all, I deeply dislike fashions, particularly when people sell their individuality in an attempt to fit in with the societal fashion.

History has thrown up people in every generation who believed they had a monopoly on "the truth" and treated everybody else with contempt. Not too many generations passed before they, too, had their ideas challenged. Ostensibly areligious or atheistic people who believe they have the "truth" are no more superior to the religious people who also have a fundamental need to claim to know the "truth". They both need to believe they are right, and therein lies the pitifulness of their self-assumed superiority complex to people like Dana.
