We had a roman blind fitted only last week by Hillary's! Very happy with the fit and design. There are 2 small flaws in the material that were not picked up when it was installed, but a replacement has been ordered and will be fitted next week. Hard to comment on the quality of the blind given the flaws but they are small and herself is happy with it overall (obviously will be far happier next week when the replacement arrives!). Overall it was a professional service offered and it was installed neatly and tidy and sturdy.

WHen they came out and measured the window and gave us a costing, we did ask was that the best price they could do, he instantly knocked 20% off the price. It was only afterwards herself said she should have pushed for more but we'd placed the order and paid the deposit by then. I hope that helps

I posted this on a thread previously so dug it out again re my experience with Hilarys.

I found Hilarys a complete rip-off. I knew they were going to be expensive as I saw the rep's reaction on the night he was measuring when, before he gave me a price, I told him I had got one other price already and would be shopping around with the market that is in it at the minute and the number of blinds companies in the area. Suddenly he said that his PDA was running out of battery and he'd have to ring me the next day with the price.

He quoted me 2k initially despite the fact that they were advertising 50% off certain blinds at the time and we picked a roller blind that was on this offer. The Sales rep told me he couldn't do any better on the 2k when I told him the one quote I had already was for €1600.

Later that day their central office rang and offered to match the €1600, despite what the rep had said. I told the girl I'd think about it but that I wasn't impressed that they were advertising 50% off yet were 20% more expensive than another provider on their initial quote.

I then got two more quotes, one from a company in Kingscourt in Cavan and one from a company in Castleblayney. Kingscourt company quoted me €1350, the Castleblayney one €1370. Hilarys rang again one of the evenings and asked me had I thought about their quote. I explained about the two lower quotes and she said there was no way she could match those quotes, despite the fact that they are advertising 50% off.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Still haven't got my blinds but certainly wouldn't go near that company for them. Advertising 50% off yet they are more expensive than anyone? I'd hate to see the price if we went with full priced blinds that weren't on offer.

I now have the blinds and am very happy to say I went with the Kingscourt company. They were €800 (yes €800 cheaper) than Hilarys for the blinds I got in the end (20 normal roller with some blackout and 9 roman blinds).

Are there any updates on the quality and price of Hilarys Blinds. The two posts see long out of date.

We got Hillarys blinds last year in our 4 bed semi. We went with wide slat, off-white faux wood venetians to match our window frames.
They're lovely and they were the cheapest quote we got- approx €800 for six venetians (mostly very large windows) And then two roller blinds on the French doors.
They were fitted within 2 weeks and the fitter was in and out in 2 hours.
    Couldn't fault them.

we went with them back in 2011 and in fairness the blinds were perfect, very good fit and quaility. blinds are still perfect and in working order. they are still as good today as they were in 2011 and they get alot of use. and im picky so if im happy they must be ok. i have noting to do with the company, just a previous customer.

Used them 3 years ago with a little trepidation after seeing those very posts. They were about €500 for 5 venetian blinds - cheapest price I got. Very happy with them and no issues so far. However, make sure you ask for every discount you've seen on their website or elsewhere - afair they were doing 2 different discounts when I ordered and the rep only volunteered one of them.
