Bleeding nut

Hi, I got the oil in today and fired up the heating and bled all the rads. The problem is that one of them is leaking at the nut.

When I tried to open the bleed screw the whole nut opened also and now it wont close flush and it is leaking. I tried opening it completely which was great fun as I hadn't turned the water off to that rad

Any ideas or do I just need a rubber washer ??

you probably just need a grips or adjustable spanner to tighten the big nut.

A new rubber o ring or a few turns of thread tape should sort the problem, don't forget to close both valves when repairing the leak.

Thanks but it could not be any tighter.

Didn't think of thread tape, will try that thanks.
