    Hi everyone,

Due to problems with the new payment system, we have reverted to the old system. This is still a pre-pay only tournament, you will just have to use the link after the form to ensure your entry is processed. Payment is through Paypal, but non-paypal users can easily use their credit card or 3V to enter.

    See the form here http://www.grapplepalooza.com/Enter_Grapplepalooza.html

Secondly, the venue has changed to Whitehall Colmcille GAA Club, Collins Avenue, Dublin 9 due to circumstances beyond our control. You can still expect the very highest standards of refereeing and organisation. All divisions and mats will have:
    • IBJJF Qualified Referees
    • Electronic Scoreboards
    • Trained Officials

Please pass this on to your clubmates, friends, coaches and basically everyone you know! Tickets for the evening event with full bar, DJ etc. will be on sale at the registration table on the day priced €20

    Thanks!

    Barry

Have you set up an event page on Facebook, Barry? Usually a good way of spreading something quicker and to those who'd not frequent boards.

Just a quick question about the rules guys. For the earlier competition, I see you have a purple/brown (3+years) division. Under IBJJF rules the only leglocks allowed for purple belts are straight ankle locks but brown belts are allowed toe holds and knee bars. What rules will apply to this division purple or brown?
    Thanks
    John

Very easy. Lots of buses, plenty of free parking outside too.

    Working on it!

Hey John, the division entry form is for reference only as to what we consider to be beginner/inter/advanced. In previous tournaments there was some confusion about where guys felt they should slot in. That being said, I guess it would be a little confusing so I've removed the reference to brown belt from it. Thanks for flagging it for me.

For rules in the daytime tournament it's:
    Novice: white belt rules
    Inter: Blue belt rules
    Advanced: Purple Belt rules

Elite that night will have Brown/Black belt rules.

just a quick suggestion Barry, would you not use the same rules (Brown/Black) for the advanced section, then the guys that qualify for the evening competition wont have to fight 2 different set of rules on the same day..

No I think the qualifiers will adjust just fine.

The following people have not completed payment during registration:

    pawel Guba
    declan dillon
    Colm Pollard
    Padraig Magee
    kamil rutkowski
    Jorge Santos

If you are one of these guys or one of their clubmates, please pass this on.

What to do if you're named above:
Re-register an use the Paypal link after your registration has completed. We will delete the unpaid registration and you will be entered! Happy days!

If you don't complete the entry before Thursday 20th, your entry will be deleted! No Grapplepalooza for you.

My rib is still f*cked. I'm taking all week off to see if it'll have any impact. I'm up in belfast all weekend for the CF cert, and chances are only slim I'll be healthy to train next week!! I think by the end of this week I'll have trained 2x in 3 weeks - both in the Tuesday class. With mat time of about 2.5hrs in total.
