Not to distract from Duggy747's plight, but I worry about the safety of my cats now. Not my boyfriend, he'll be grand. I want my cats to be ok.

Background: My boyfriend and cats live outside Dublin. I live inside Dublin to get to and from college.

Neighbour: Met him by chance when he first moved in, complete scumbag, with wannabe pitbulls in his car. He keeps them in a cage in the garden, because they're not safe around kids. I said "Well I have cats" and he said he'd seen them in the garden, said "My dogs kill cats, deadly buzz deadly buzz". I said WTF? My cats are safe? Oh yeah, he keeps the dogs in a cage so they wont savage his little kids. But one of them grabbed and killed a cat, "It was bleedin' deadly bud!" Their two wannabe pits who kill cats bark all night, without ceasing. I didn't report them and told my fella not to either, because of the character who lived next door.

Guy called round to help my fella put the fence back up between the two gardens. All friends and stuff.

Yesterday morning, the guy is knocking the door down. He was kicking it by the time my fella got to it. What's the story? Someone rang his landlord and said his dogs were barking. And he had a letter from the dog warden. Why my guy? Because, and this is the neighbour's own words and reasoning - "You're the only English guy in *insert town*"

I'm just proud of my (English) fella for not kicking the living crap out of him. [edited to add he really did think the scumbag neighbour was going to beat him up.]

I do fear for my cats now, because previously this guy told me how awesome it is when his dogs kill cats, and now he thinks that my fiance was the one that reported him (it wasn't him, although I wanted to, I was too afriad of this happening).

So, AH, when did your neighbour throw a wobbly?

Any of you actually had pets hurt due to dispute?

    I love my little cats!
