    I just watched the fascinating documentary Man on a Wire, a documentary about a man called Phillipe Pettit who tightrope walked across the twin towers in New York just after they were built in 1974.

    He did this without permission or without any safety gear whatsoever.
    And did it with a huge smile on his face. Truly remarkable in my book.
    When he got to one side the cops were waiting and told him to come in but he ran right across again, they threatened to have a chopper pick him up but he was undeterred.

    He did it for no other reason apart from the fact that he could.
