In need of a set of wheels, alluminium clinchers, preferably pretty lightweight. Was hoping for something with a campag free-hub although if I can stick a campag free-hub body on it pretty handy then a shimano hub is ok. Either way total budget is 300e. Don't necessarily need tubes, tyres or cassettes. Anybody got anything suitable?

probably not what you're lookin for at all but have a set of Alexrims R500's with a shimano hub...tubes, tyres and skewers included, asking €100...hardly used them as i switched to askiums after i bought the bike

No thanks Daz, I'm not awfully familiar with alex r500 but as far as I can tell they're decent but entry level OEM wheels (correct me if I'm wrong) and while 100e is a grand price for them I'm not sure they'd be a noticable upgrade from the shimano r501's I'm running at the moment.

    no problem

I may have a set of Bonty XXX Lite OR Mavic Kysrium Equipe 2011 coming up for sale in the next week. Both are Shimano.

It will depend on what wheels I sell with the bike (Trek Madone 5.9SL) when I put it up next week.

Keep in touch with you on it.

    Ck

Yeah, I think I'd probably be interested in either of them provided the price was right and provided I can get a campag freehub body to fit them.
Any idea how much you'd be letting them go for or does that depend on how much you get for the bike?

Hey. I have a set of flashpoint wheels. Made by zipp. Aluminium rim. Shimano free-hub body... I dont know what it would take to switch. Clinchers. Bomb Proof. They are like these, but I took the stickers off!!!! €375 if you are interested.

@sdcclad. 375e is pushing my budget pretty far and I haven't come across a zippe compatible campag freehub body but that'd probably be at least another 40-60e if they do exist so I think that's a no, thanks though.

    Hi Tony...
The Mavics are literally brand new and have less than 300km on them..Absolutely spotless..New they are £300, so about 330 euro...I'll be needing 280, I would say. They are the black model as opposed to the very bling Stephen Ireland white ones!:)

The Bontys are superb wheels but TBH, I would be trying my best to sell them with the Madone as they are the original wheels for the bike..

Keep an eye out for the ad, which I will be putting up early next week after taking photos etc if you are mind set on the Bontys, otherwise let me know about the Mavics..

Hi Tony - I have a set of Fulcrum Racing 3s. Bought earlier this year and I believe I have only used them twice since.

They are fitted with a campagnolo freehub.

Genuinely in "as new" condition with skewers.

Gerrybmw, how much are you looking for for the fulcrum's?

Ckeego, mavic campag freewheels are 40e if I was to convert your mavic's to campag's then I'd end up spending 320e which is roughly what they are on merlin cycles so it's not really worth my while. If you were willing to drop the price to 240e I might be interested, it's up to you.

Tony - hadn't a price in mind as I hadn't planned on selling until I saw your post. I paid Eur415 (Stg360) in merlin cycles.

Leave it with me and I'll get back to you.

Right well I like fulcrum's and it'd be handy to get a campag wheel straight off rather than have to mess around with changing freehub bodies so if you can come up with a reasonable price I'm certainly interested, provided I don't end up buying anything else in the meantime.

Tony - it might be a little more than you had wanted to spend but I am looking for 340 for the wheels.

    Thanks

    Hi Tony..
In the process of advertising the Madone and I had an idea:)

Where can you get the Campag freehub to convert the Shimano? and how difficult a job is it?

I am only getting used to Campag having bought a SWorks with campag chorus gruppo but was thinking of putting the Mavics on this..

That would leave me with a pretty much brand new (less than 350km on them) set of Campag Khamsin G3, which obviously are Campag hub..

    Interested?

Gerry, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I'd take the fulcrums for 320e max if that'd suit you?

Ckeego, you can get mavic freehub bodies on CRC for like 40e and as far as I know it's not a big job. However I don't think I'm interested in the khasims. If I can't get the fulcrums off Gerry I'll probably go for campag zonda's on shiny bikes for 320 which is a pretty good deal.

Hi Tony - I really couldn't accept any less than 330 for the fulcrums, subject to inspection from you of course. They have been literally used twice - feel free to take a look at them and you won't be disappointed.

    Thanks
