So I just got offered Psych Nursing in Trinity and I would definitely be up for accepting it but I'd be weary considering that I've missed induction and about two weeks of lectures. Would it be better for me to defer until next year or to launch straight into it next week?

Don't defer for a year, as you have only missed 1 full week of lectures! Hardly an insurmountable task to catch up on. Orientation week wasn't that important. All you need is to find your way around an know where your lectures will be. If you want psychiatric nursing definitely accept. :)
