    Hi,

Trying to send some video files (all about 30-40mb each) that I recorded on my phone, they are mp4 files.

I have them stored on my pc but how can I compress them and send them as they won't send as is by "send by e-mail"

    Thanks for any advice.

What program are you mailing them from? The likes of gmail or business outlook has a cap of 25MB for attachments.

You could split the files in to smaller chunks and mail it on.

    VirtualDub will help with that.

The only other methods are to either re-encode the video files with a lower bitrate or you could create a temporary Dropbox account. Upload them there and give whoever you're sending them the details of the account so they can download at their end.

Gmails cap of 25mb is quite high to the person receiving the email might have a much lower cap.

I use yousendit.com for sending large files.

Don't email them. Put them up on something like dropbox.

Imagine someone get their email on their mobile and someone emails that lot.

Does it always take "forever" to upload a video to youtube?

Depends on your broadband package. You might have 8mb download but only 256kb upload..
