Hi guys,Im having some trouble with my signal tonight,I put up the aerial about a year ago and im receiveing the signal from dungarvin,up to now there has been no problems but tonight there has been a few problems,ie black screen for a few seconds, the aerial is the correct one for the dungarvin station,c/d and has been working perfect up to now,and im wondering what could be the cause of the loss of signal,im up on the satellite side of things but not the terrestial side of things and am looking to pick someones brain on this issue,my signal is steady at 75,and bit error level is zero but tonight on 5 or six times in a short period of time the signal dropped to zero and the b.e.l. jumped to 10.
first of all is a signal strength of 75 enough,i had no meter when i installed it only a compass for guidance and got lucky first time(lucky up to now perhaps)I got the aerial off a neighbour who could get no signal off it and after a bit of googling found i needed to point it east to the dungarvin transmittor and its been fine up to now,im in the castlemartyr area,if anyone has any suggestions im all ears, regards

Might be co-channel interference caused by enhanced propagation conditions. Maybe the Huntshaw Cross transmitter in SW England.

If you have an unobstructed path in direction of Cork City, try aiming the aerial to there instead for Spur Hill?
    (rods horizontal)

You will have to retune (666MHz/Ch45) if you try this.

Antenna, thanks for the reply but will the c/d group aerial work if aimed at the spur hill station, signal on my setup has dropped from 75 to 70 at the moment,i wont be able to get up on the roof for a while as my ladder is doing the rounds at the moment, regards

45 is a bit below the Group C/D range of channels (48 and above) however there would be only a small reduction in gain for 45 on a typical C/D aerial. Spur Hill MUX 2 (not on air) would be on Ch49 BTW - which is within group C/D
