I got a few jobs done on my 02 passat and just wondering what it normally costs:
    New door handle cable
new brake discs back and front
    Top link drivers side
    oil and filter.
I got a good price from my local mechanic of last 10 years and have no problems. Just wondering what would lads be expecting to pay before I say how much I did pay;-)

Between 300 and 450 would be my guess if all done together

    Around €950 I'd say.

With friends like that who needs enemies;)

I assume and hope he also changed the pads along with the discs? On the assumption that he did so I'm going to hazard a guess of €300 - 320.

€420 all in. I'm happy enough with this although looking at some of the quotes above it looks like I could do better.
The door cable was done separately a while ago and everything else was done together. He's not a pal by the way, but I'm a regular customer and I trust him. Has collected me from 40mls away once when I'd a breakdown and wouldn't take anything extra for it.
