After a year of training runs, salads, low heart rates and easy race simulations. PGibbo is finally going to raise the legs above a canter and tackle Barcelona.

I will leave someone with a better knowledge of spanish to work out his race number http://www.challenge-barcelona.es/index_evento.php

All the best gibbo, make sure those handlesbars are screwed on properly

If you changed the language to English it's pretty easy to navigate! :pac:

Joyce Wolfe is doing this as well I see.

    Worst athlete tracking even.

Following another lad too - the splits on the bike are inclusive of swim and T1 - so its elapsed time and not split time. Got me for a while

That puts pgibbo ahead of plan I would imagine.

Ah that makes sense now, i was thinking the first bike split was on the slow side:rolleyes:

working now, bike splits look very fast for who i'm looking at anyway but swim looked on slow side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,184 ✭✭✭El Director

Very little breeze and hot, fingers crossed that won't be a big factor for P.

Pgibbo about 10 faster than he thought so wouldn't have said slow.

He is on track to be about 5 min faster than baseline plan so wouldn't have said fast.

Maybe your mate is drafting Gav?

Although Gibbos day I would say was a lot harder - hes running pretty even splits if he holds it together he should be in comfortably under 12

Thanks for all the kind words and support folks. It was a long day but a very enjoyable one. I'd highly recommend the event. I loved "nearly" every minute of it. Lap 3 of the run not so much but the rest of the day was great.

Back to work today so I'll be doing a race report today or tomorrow. Once it's done I'll post it! :D

I spotted this thread on Saturday afternoon and it gave me a great lift. Just what I needed the evening before the race. So thanks folks.

Cheers. I guess you could say it's all your fault. If you hadn't given me that book I might not have had the most enjoyable race of my life. So thank you!

Thanks Chief. I got some funny looks at work after I put up the pics of the finish area, etc that you sent me when people asked what they were. They sure helped though!
