Right folks any help with this would be appreciated. My daughter turned on her sky plus box last night and got the message 'no satellite signal been received' with 29 on the screen.

I had a look and discovered the connecter going to number 1 was broken. I swapped the cable from number 2 to number 1 so she could watch TV.

Today I got a new connecter but when I connect that cable to number 1 the 'no satellite signal been received' and the 29 are still on the screen.

I hope I've explained this properly and I hope someone may have a solution.

Error 29 is a no-signal error message, check the cable where you plugged it out from the box,it may have become loose in the f-connector or if you pulled it out you could have the outer strands of cable coming into contact with the main central copper wire which will cause signal loss.

Sometimes doing a reboot of the box can help.

By rebooting you mean unplug from the mains for 15min and then plug it back in, yeah done that still no joy

Check cables the way I described in my previous post, the slightest thing could cause a problem especially if it was working before you took the cables out.

I've checked the connections several times with no joy. I've also turned the power to the LNB on and off but nothing works. Looks like she will have to book a service call.
