So, long story short. I need a bike pretty much now. However I only have about 150 euro to buy one. My cycle will be 30kms each day . Could anyone please help? I'm a big fella too, so I don't know if that makes a difference to the bike I need.

    Thanks

    Nth Cumberland St, apparently.. :)

2nd hand is your best option. Cheap new is generally crap. Try putting a wanted ad in the adverts sub-forum?

http://www.rothar.ie/ would also be a good place to get a 2nd hand bike.

Adverts.ie, gumtree, done deal, buy and sell, cycling adverts sub-forum here on boards. Just be careful to google ever bike you find, figure out how much it's actually worth rather than how much someone's asking for it and make sure you get the right size.

150e is tight though even for a second hand bike. Maybe you could borrow one of someone and keep saving for a while.

Thanks for the info so far.
Literally only found out yesterday I need a bike for this Saturday onwards hence the low asking price since I am broke for another month.

If you're in Dublin, there's a load of ex-Aran Islands rental mountainbikes for sale at €125 each from a bike shop on Wexford St. at the moment.

Not opposite Whelans, down the street from it. Opposite the megabikes motorcycle shop.

UCD used to sell off ex-rental hybrids, but I don't know at what time of year, and whether they still do it.
