as mentioned : wanted 19-20 inch retro (1992-1999) mtb frame/bike. can be badly scratched, unbuilt, dirty etc etc.

should have 71/73 geometry angles. ( most of them do anyways)

would prefer cromoly, but alu or other materials are OK.

anyone anything? i believe some of u guys has some old skool dales, specialized, konas laying there in the shed. help me out, i want to build my old skool bike!

I have a 1992 Kona Cindercone with project 2 forks, also have some of the original suntour superb pro bits that came with it + period marzocchi air-oil forks and lots more. Condition of frame is rust free but in need of some tlc. I can send you some pics if you are interested and a list of bits if you are looking for anything else. S

ok here is a selection to start with
Condition of all items varies and in most cases just need a clean, frame will need respray or powdercoat, scuffing to cranks but threads are perfect.

1 x Joe Murray designed 1992 Kona Cindercone frame + project 2 forks with zoom bars and stem all from original 1992 spec, in need of TLC but very salvageable, this was my first mountain bike bought in 1993 but I wont let sentimentality cloud my judgment with the price.
Original WTB saddle and seatpost from Kona
2 X suspension forks as per description on pic
1 x cook bros cranks & ringle stem (not period to your requirements although similar in design would look great with frame)
    1 x 1997 Avid arch rival 4's, great brakes!
1 x xtr rapidrise rear mech and r/h shifter (again not period, from 00's)
    1 x azonic stem 1997
1 x Easton monkey lite dh from mid 00's

I have more bits wheels etc, shifters, brakes although I'll have to route them out next week as I am mid house move.

how will you charge me for frame, headset and post?

if i need other bits that depends on the price of the frame, coz im a poor student. u mentioned u have some wheels?

Im still thinking on a price but as the frame isn't in great condition it wont be too much. Wheels that'll suit are a pair of 1997 shimano lx hubs on sun rhino lite rims (pics later), you'll need a breaking surface, hubs need a regrease easily done as with shimano hubs they are cup and cone bearings but are in good working order, rims are near perfect and they run true. If you want to keep it period you would be better off taking the whole module ie frame + forks + stem, the headset is threadless and the fork steerer is 1" threaded as was the call of the day so you need to source another headset.

yeah, thats what i ment, obviously with the forks. but ive concerns about the whole length of the bike, coz of that ctazy kona geos. but in general the situation is almost perfect for me, pitty the head tube size isnt 1/1.8. mate what is the exact size of the frame? even with kona sizing it shouldnt be bigger than 20.5 inch if i want to have it sitting right. im 6'1 ft tall. wheels sound nice, love lx hubs. any type of tlc is not a problem for me. waiting to hear from u towards the price. im from dublin, are u anywhere around dub?

seat tube measures 20" centre of bb - top of seat tube , not sure how that translates in 90's kona geometry as regards sizing but if there are any other vital measurements you need I can check, head tube might also be 1 1/8 though I'll get back to you on that. I'll be around Dublin next week as the condition of the frame isn't anything like new I'd be happier for you to view things first before you commit to buying anything, as regards price I can make a bundle with wheels with tyres/tubes + frame, forks, bars and stem for €100
