They usually unlock ufc.tv to UK/Ire IP addresses for the ufc live shows so it'll be free.

If you have the cable you could connect to the TV. The Hardy/Lytle show stayed free for a week for the UK so you'll still be able to see it in good quality.

Wasn't that only free online because they took their time sorting out a tv deal?

This looks like it will be a good event, some good fights on the card, I just got an email from setanta on about it with a half price deal if any of you are looking for it.

Its on for free on UFC.tv aswell as Premier Sports and Setanta 1. I wudnt be bothered paying Setanta €14.99 per month for access to 1 UFC event every few months and some average Premier League games...
Also for people with Eircom Broadband last time I checked Setanta Sports is free to watch as an "added bonus" - so if you use the link through the Eircom website you could watch it that way.

    See comment below on ufc.tv showing the Versus 6 event;

"At the time of writing this, Gareth A Davies of The Telegraph has since confirmed that fans in the UK will be able to watch the event live and on replay via www.ufc.tv And also has some quotes from Marshall Zelaznik"

Is this on Setanta 1 or Ireland?

Also I think this is the last Versus card so could well be the last card on Setanta also. People also complain about trying to cancel Setanta, meant to give you a royal run around.

Setanta 1 as per the very first post.

Yep, and neither is Setanta Ireland for that matter.

Also, anyone else think Charlie Brenneman is the spit of Cesc Fabregas?? Just in the face like.

It will be free to air on Setanta meaning you dont need a subscription .....

UFC have reached agreement with Premier Sports UK and Setanta Sports Ireland to broadcast the forthcoming UFC live 6 card this Saturday night. Details below.

    - - In the UK, Premier Sports UK will show the event free to air to all UK and Northern Irish homes on Channel number 433 on the BSKYB platform.

    - - In Ireland Setanta Sports 1 will show the event free to air to all Republic of Ireland satellite homes on Channel number 424 on the BSKYB platform in Ireland. It is also available on Setanta Sport 1 on UPC cable channel 407.

Just for this I'd imagine. Same with Premier Sports channel in the UK. It's a PPV channel but they're doing the Versus event free to air as part of a one off deal.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

Just to clarify, Premier Sports is a regular channel just like Setanta in Ireland. You might be getting confused with Primetime which is a PPV channel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,323 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

I'd like to hear confirmation of this somewhere. The Hardy v Lytle card was not free to air on Setanta after someone told me it would be.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

At this time Premier Sports says Free View for the UFC Event. No such thing on Setanta Sports 1. Like MrStuffins says, Setanta was not free for the last UFC Live event.

Cheers. Not listed on mine for some reason. Basicly PPV though so no good to me anyway. Hate the way the UFC jumps from channel to channel

Bit of a bullshít stoppage there from Shane Rollers point of view. He says he didn't verbally tap but the ref says he did. I wonder if there'll be a rematch now. It was a great fight up to that point.

if you don't have setanta sports 1 then you can't watch it on sky or upc

it's only free online here through ufc.tv as far as i know though it's
not showing up free there yet

alternatively if you have a free to air sky tv card its free on premier
    sports (ch433)

Setanta usually indicate if a programme is going to be free by putting FREE VIEW before the programme. This can be seen on Sky now if you look at the programme starting at 1.30am on Setanta Sports 1. The UFC at 2am does not have this which mirrors the last time Setanta showed a UFC event. It wasn't free.

Premier Sports, who the UK viewers will have to watch (this is not on the Irish EPG) does have Free View before it and it was free for UK viewers the last time there was a UFC on Versus event.

My hope is that this becomes viewable through Other Channels on Sky. For anyone else that wishes to try, their frequency is 11.680 V 27.5 2/3

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

UFC need to sort this out, for anyone in uk that does not have sky(ie cable alternative) has no access at all to this primetime channel
