getting a deposit returned from a landlord

If a tenant has been refused his/her deposit from a landlord and has worked with both Threshold and the PRTB in an effort to get it (through a series of attempts to settle outside of court, a tribunal hearing, an appeal by the landlord which was accepted but the final hearing stated the tenant was to be awarded his/her deposit plus legal fees), are there any steps the tenant can take if the landlord ignores a determination order? The PRTB cannot guarantee that a case like this would make it back to court after the initial determination order has been issued. Any insight would be appreciated.

Maybe try putting "enforcing PRTB determination order court" into Google.

That aside, why not just enforce it yourself? You have a determination order, which isn't been discharged. Not really seeing the problem here. You have looked at the Act and done basic searches and maybe looked on citizensinformation.ie?

Thanks for your response, Avatargh... the main problem is a financial one, not sure what solicitor's fees might be for something like this. Not sure what you mean regarding the determination not being discharged? While the PRTB have been helpful, their resources are a bit lacking and therefore this dispute has been going on for about 2 and a half years with the landlord not responding to the determination order.

A request has been made to enforce the order, but could take several months to be issued and then several more months to go to court (which seems unlikely to happen given the amount of cases the PRTB are handling).

According to the PRTB a solicitor would be needed to carry out the enforcement. Sorry for the lengthy post, just trying to give enough detail for the query to make sense...
