Wiper blade issue

Anybody got a tip / trick for this one....

Any time I change or someone else changes the wiper blades on the missus's car, they slide across the windscreen lovely for a couple of months and then decide they would rather drag / bounce / hop across in a very annoying fashion!!!, noise is a pain in the arse if driving a decent distance in the rain.

Doesn't seem to matter what quality they are, have tried both cheap & nasty & good quality ones, all only seem to operate smoothly for a while.

    Cheers

I would suggest changing the wiper arms. It may be when the new rubber stiffens from use slightly bent arms will cause this movement.

When you wash the car, do you wash the rubber on the blades aswell? If so, this can often have a "dry out" effect on the rubber for a while but it comes back right again after a while.

Had a similar problem with my auld lads Santa Fe. I replaced the blades with the own brand universal retrofit flat blades from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/, dirt cheap and fitted dead handy. They've done the job perfectly and cured the problem. Got a pair for my own van and I'm delighted with them so far.

Change the angle of the wiper blade on the glass by twisting the wiper arm. You want a narrow angle between the glass and the leading edge of the wiper blade.

Lift the wiper arm off the window
Using a pliers grip the flat part of the wiper arm near the wiper blade.
Twist the wiper arm using the pliers.

You'll have to think about which stroke of the blade causes the hopping. A bit of trial and error should sort it. (Protect the paint on the wiper-arm with a cloth or a piece of rubber if necessary.)
