    Hi guys,

Doing a bit of work for the local primary school and I'm trying to set up remote desktop on the PC that is connected to a projector at the front of the class room. The teacher wants to be able to control this computer from a second computer at the back of the room. I've set up remote desktop but of course that locks the display on the remote machine. From what i can see there is no work around for Remote Desktop that will work for this, but do any of ye know of any other ways I could do it? I've looked at GoAssist but I need a free program, like Remote Desktop!

I'd appreciate any help on this

Think outside the box, what about a KVM switch? Or a really long VGA cable?

Is it important which computer is used as long as it's shown on the projector?

If not you could even do something with a simple wireless keyboard and mouse

Would Logmein work? Its free and doesn't blank the display (unless you ask it too!)

Any half dacent free remote software does not disable the users screen when you remote onto their pc.

    tightVNC, Ultra VNC etc...

Take your pick really: anything marked as free for use for enterprise should do the trick with no licence to worry about.

thanks guy, i came across ultra vnc since i posted and i think that should do the job. before that I had thought of logmein and installed it but the internet connection isn't fantastic in the school so that would lag. Wireless keyboard and mouse are obviously a good idea but the range is a bit to far I think.

thanks again for the ideas i think this will sort me!
